Bridge Pose – a Calming, Relaxing posture from Hatha Yoga.
This pose combines arching the back with extending the shoulders to lift the pelvis and torso. It also places the heart lower than the trunk which creates a light inversion.. This improves the venous return to the heart. It is also a lovely pose to calm down the nervous system, lowering the heart rate.
Bridge Pose stretches the front of the body
