Jacqui is a Hatha Yoga Teacher based in North Hampshire with a wealth of experience working with people of all ages and abilities. She teaches yoga in and around the Basingstoke area.

She has been involved as a trainer and consultant in the Health and Fitness sector for over 30 years. During this time she was part of a team who set up the first GP referral scheme in Andover. This provided evidence to support that prescribed exercise programmes had a positive impact on improving patients health.

Jacqui started practicing yoga in 2000 to complement her long distance running, and found both the physical and mental benefits enormous.  She realized the importance of understanding more about the body, and connection to the mind, as well as lifestyle changes to improve her own health. This became a springboard for further study at Roehampton University  in 2003, and a qualification with the American College of Sports Medicine. The ACSM specialises in exercise prescription for special populations and medical conditions.

“The benefits of Yoga are universal. I am constantly amazed and inspired to see students become more flexible, more relaxed with an improved sense of well-being.
We live our lives at such a fast pace. Yoga allows us to slow down, become mindful and experience just being. Not a human doing.
On a physical level we can tone and strengthen our bodies, calm the nervous system and reconnect with our breath.
I have seen “fitness trends” come and go, but Yoga has been here for over 5000 years. It will continue to be here for the foreseeable future.
Yoga can be practised anywhere, and by anybody, it does not require much more than a mat and open mind”

If your practice is aligned with your goal (samadhi). the obstacles along your spiritual path (klesha) will disappear and ultimately you will reach your goal.
